electroplating plastic process If you don't know about it, you may be surprised to learn that "metal mail" can be produced by electroplating: an electric current can be passed through a thin metal film (like paper, for example) to make it conductive. The result is a piece of metal that has some of its electrical properties, such as conductivity and strength, but none of its inherent strength. You can think of metal mail as an unpowered version of black tape, and while it can't resist breaking your prized piece of art, it will certainly grab your piece and move it just out of your reach.
